2. Ebenezer Ponniah 19 --19



Ebenezer Ponniah was the second son of Paranjothi Nadar of Pattakulam. Like his mother Seeniammal Paranjothi, he was very fair and handsome. He was the first to be graduated in the village, a unique honour still spoken about in the village. He studied in the Bishoop Heber College Trichi. His contemporaries used to remember his college pranks he played on his friends. It was told he had flair for English and the native tongue, Tamil. He married, or eloped with, it is not known Lizzie an equal to his imtelligence and smartness. The couple went to Malaysia and settled in Battugajah where they started Royal english School. Uncle Ponniah had long stint in Radio Mlaysia. All the grandchildren of Paranjothi remember him as the most lovable one in the clan.

1. James Rajamani, P 1903-1976



James Rajamani, popularly known as Sub-registrar Rajamani, is the eldest son of Paranjothi Nadar. He had studied up to S.S.LC. He had inherited the caste headship, Natanmai, among the Nadar group in the village of Pattakulam. Hunting was his hobby and he was known as a sharp shooter. On holidays he used to go to the mountains near Vatrap and Srivilliputtur in search game animals like deer and rabits. He is still spoken about in the villages as an honest officer, both during the British Raj and in the independant India.
